В менеджменте в основном известна модель У.Ф.Тейлора, являющая собой пирамидальную, иерархическую форму организационной структуры авторитарного управления. Модель уже широко используется как образовательная технология, позволяющая повысить эффективность обучения и восприятия как основных принципов философии, так и принципов качественного менеджмента. Модель является надежным инструментом для построения системы эффективного менеджмента конкурентоспособной компании.

Пирамида и волчок являются образами крайних полюсов на шкале описания типа и структуры одной из двух возможных форм, а значит и стратегии руководства деятельностью организации.

 DEVELOPMENT OF THE EFFECTIVE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM OF THE MARKET COMPANY ON THE BASIS OF ANTINOMIAN MODEL «PYRAMID-TOP»


To be able to start a business as a leader is a complicated multifactorial system. To our opinion, the main components of this system are:

1. Skill to rotate in conditions of constant changes of external factors (knowledge and application of management laws in conditions of variability).

2. Search and a choice of favourable sector for the organization’s activity:

  • even, firm surface providing long rotation;

  • absence of or weak competitors positions in this sphere;

  • favorable or controllable changes of STEEP-Factors (social, technological, economical, ecological, political factors) (to find, keep and expand the place under the sun).

3. Viewy, noticeable production (goods or service), capable to involve and keep the consumer (the toy should become desired).

4. Presence of minimally necessary energy for an initial twisting of a whipping-top with

steady frequency of rotation (ability to spin after one has turned over from legs on a head).

5. Creation of the tool of a feedback for an estimation of consumer satisfaction (The handle of the mechanism of a constant power backspin of a whipping-top).

One of requirements of a continuity of changes - flexibility of organization’s management. The flexible transformed geometrical form of a whipping- top suggests, that under corresponding conditions the figure can change in diversified ways: both how to change in sizes, for example, how to grow vertically without any limit, and how to transform the form unlike a pyramid which, collapsing in due course, only decreases in height. Or at a low level of hierarchy to increase range of contacts with the consumer, like a pancake, creeping away above a surface. Meanwhile the lower the top, but wider its wing (radius of a range of contacts with consumers), the greater stability it will possess (the surface of friction is smaller), that means that a driven down of rotation stability and less energy is required to spend on its maintenance.

Thus, the pyramidal organization,which made a decision to become the competitive market company, must settle down to a new course. First of all for this purpose, to make internal changes on carrying the "centre of gravity" of the company to its brain. For what in its top it is necessary to create «critical mass» from the top-managers ready not only to turn themselves from legs on a head, but also capable to teach and motivate for this the necessary quantity of the employees of the organization.

Each organization is focused and works for the result (value), demanded by the consumer, whether it be goods or services. In our metaphorical example with a musical top such result can be a sound produced by it. Its timbre, melody and loudness of sounding which depend on stability and speed of rotation of a top. There are two methods for power additional charging of a top for long and effective activity of the company in the market, as well as for long and steady rotation:

First, someone external must be constantly engaged in its backspin;

Secondly, to get an energy source from a field of resources (the state support, founders or sponsors for noncommercial organizations).

The organization is a toy in hands of the consumer. And to be the competitive organization - it is necessary to be a favorite toy for your consumer. Thus, the first variant provides to a top communication with the consumer, so independent competitiveness. For this purpose each toy-top has mechanism or other device by means of which player can constantly or from time to time tighten up a toy, so that it continued movement.

Such device - is nothing but a feedback mechanism with the consumer. The effective market organization always organizes, supports and develops channels of direct information streams with the consumer/customer. These are various technologies and methods of monitoring of satisfaction of the consumer (interrogations, questioning, focus-group, etc.) so that the consumer could constantly inform the companies on the inquiries, needs and offers. This information is the accelerator or, if you prefer, a constant energy source for the company, for continuous change of organizational structure, perfection and reengineering of processes.

The organization constructed "head over heels" akin to "top", is intended, not only to serve the consumer, but also thus to construct and order process of interaction with it that these attitudes to give deep and substantial character through perfection of quality of production demanded and perceived by the consumer. For this purpose all members of the organization, leaning on a communication edge of the leader, should be in constant movement (in fact « life is a movement »).

The important distinctive feature of a top from a pyramid is that in it its each part rotates with the same frequency, as an edge of a top. And if the direction or speed of rotation of separate employees of firm will not coincide with the established criteria of the organization (do not rotate together with a top) they will not stay there for a long time, and soon they will fly away because of action of centrifugal forces of acceleration.

Thus, it is necessary to create the close-knit command of adherents: chief and the executors, capable to accelerate movement and to increase through structural changes the general potential of the company up to reception of additional acceleration through processes of continuous perfection of professional skills by all company’s major employees Acceleration of its own "rotation" allows separate employees to show the chief properties, providing with it career growth from a level of linear management before top-management in the organization. Or allows, having pulled out from an orbit of firm to head its branch or to organize the firm.

As from first days of the movement the organization is subject to constant, but varied influence of external factors and society, rotation of "top" occurs not only in one point, the search of partners passes on all fields of external resources (so-called procession of a top). By the way, there are not only static pyramids of Open and Closed Joint-Stock Companies formally created on the basis of former state enterprises on this ground of rotation of the company-top, but also actual competitors of firm-tops, with another speed and a direction of rotation (mission, strategy, corporate values).

And it means, that during interaction with all external environments, there will be various contacts, as a result of these contacts speed can be changed, stability and sector of a field of rotation of a top (activity of the company) will be carried out. And if from influence of STEEP-Factors or as a result of competitive struggle (collision of the organizations) the top will reduce the speed or , which is worse, will cease to rotate, so it will pass from a condition of movement in position of a "dead" pyramid. This means death - bankruptcy of the company.

Thus, the presented model of a pyramid-top allows not only to understand and accept basic laws of management, but also to use them for construction market- focused organization competing successfully in conditions of continuous changes of global economy.

The application for the invention is sent and accepted to consideration: « Application of the device of a top as a visual aid at studying basic laws and principles of management and a way of use of the device of a top according to this purpose »


For an explanation of any new object, process or phenomenon man endeavours to present it in the form of a model – through an image, description, drawing, diagram, chart, plan or card. The author's pattern of "pyramid-top" allows the management to create on the basis of principles of management the figurative program of construction or reforming of the company akin to a market company.

The classical form of organizational structure

« The invention concerns to pedagogic and psychology and allows to raise a learning efficiency and perception of a studied material, namely, the invention concerns to means and ways of training and can be used at studying laws and principles of management and for construction of system of effective management of the competitive company ».




Traditionally the company existed for serving needs of administration – if you prefer, it is the sort of model of feudal relationships. But today « we observe the beginning of the revolutions, representing original turn on 180 degrees, which puts consumers and employees of the company, cooperating directly with them, to the top of the organization instead of occupied position in the basis of a pyramid » ( Regis McKenna). And the example to this is Toyota.


Fast footwork is the key to success in life

The pyramidal organization,which decided to become a competitive market company, must change completely. The organization must suddenly become a rotating (alive) top from a static (dead) pyramid. Movement is a life. The important difference of a top from a pyramid is that in a top each part rotates with the same frequency, as the spike of a top.

Speaking about forming of relationships in any organization, the chief should understand a vector of a way and clearly imagine the whole scale and a range of different opportunities, which means to foresee behavior and actions corresponding to different points of this scale. Thus, conventionally extreme points on the opposite ends of such scale will be pairs: "alive" and "dead", "one" and "zero", "kindly" and "angrily" both "white" and "black". Or positions with opposite not only qualitative, but also quantitative parameters.

The surface on which the spike of a top leans during the movement, can be presented as a field of resources. Why? Because all our main material and power resources are in the ground. We extract oil, gas, natural minerals, water from bowels of the Earth. Resources for the organization are laws of the state, means of founders, raw material and accessories from the suppliers, the necessary information. And to take this you have to drill into the location of resources.

In the organizations which have accepted the market, all should be changed, from industrial lines and processes up to corporate culture. The most difficult part of process of change of corporate culture is an open recognition of that fact, that the chief did something incorrectly earlier. For this purpose to make internal changes on carrying the "centre of gravity" of the company to its brain – management - must be done. For this it is necessary to create «critical mass» in its top from the top-managers ready not only to turn themselves from legs on a head, but also capable to teach employees of the organization. For efficient and long activity on the market the company must have additional “power supply”: someone external must be constantly engaged in its backspin; or the company must get an energy source from a field of resources (the state support, founders or sponsors for noncommercial organizations). The organization is a toy in hands of the consumer. And to be the competitive organization - it is necessary to be a favorite toy for your consumer. So to provide the companies communication with the consumer for an estimation of satisfaction and the changes according to its inquiries.

The human biology has defined, that the man should be the researcher and the scout, i.e., to rotate.

Woman, on the contrary, should be conservative in many respects: « measure thrice and cut once». Differences concerning self-affirmation, activity and aggressions conduct the origin from biological distinctions. Women are a base of evolution, and men - a way, means.

There is an interesting saying-metaphor: « He just turned everything upside down ».

Thus it is supposed, that the given person has made something wrong. But why it is considered wrong to lean on a head? Unless business should be twisted not through a head?

Vivid example of the person leaning a head during rotation - extreme dancers of a break-dance. Position « to rise on a head » can be received by two ways:

- The first: applying external effort, the instructors-teachers “take small pyramid’s – man’s – legs” turn upside down, turn around with his head down and untwist (in such a way up to 98 % of all experts are prepared);

- The second: in the person himself a carry of the centre of gravity from the basis of a pyramid to its top occurs. The most powerful part of the person should become brains. It is a way for strong personalities of-born leaders. And there are only 2-3 % of such people.

Basis of any organization in the market world is its chief, who learned to turn himself upside down under influence of ideas and inquiries, called up by society, and who spins like a top. The chief (the spike of the top-organization) feels himself the smallest changes occuring in a body of a top, capable to change a course of its movement. He who planted on the shoulders his employees and have taken the responsibility for the organization, already makes a heroic act.

If the direction or speed of rotation of separate members of the company will not coincide with the accepted criteria of the organization (do not rotate together with a top) they will not stay there for a long time, and soon, because of action of «centrifugal forces of acceleration » they will take off from the company. Or will lead the company to bankruptcy: loss of speed and Movements.


Leaders of creation (1): rotation from oneself to people (in a society) and, on the contrary, leaders of destruction (-1): to soak up in oneself all as crateror « a black hole ». Whom will you decide to become? All depends on you and from your instructors: family and school or street.
